SAPIAN COMMUNITY GUIDELINES

Welcome to Sapian! We're building a community of people who want to meet others for walks, coffee, sports, and great conversations. These guidelines help everyone have a safe and positive experience.
By using Sapian, you agree to follow these Community Guidelines. If you see someone breaking these rules, please report them. Together, we can keep Sapian safe and welcoming.

1. SAFETY FIRST

Your safety is your responsibility. We don't conduct background checks or verify identities. Here's how to stay safe:
Before Meeting:
Chat in the app first before agreeing to meet Check their profile - does it look genuine and complete? Trust your instincts - if something feels off, it probably is Don't feel pressured to meet if you're not ready Google them if you can find their social media
First Meeting Rules:
ALWAYS meet in a public place (cafe, park, busy area) Meet during daylight or early evening Never get in someone's car on a first meeting Don't invite them home or go to their place Keep first meetings short - 30 to 60 minutes
Tell Someone:
Let a friend or family member know where you're going Share who you're meeting (name, screenshot of profile) Tell them when you expect to be back Have a friend call or text you during the meeting
During the Meeting:
Arrive on your own transportation Keep your phone charged Don't leave drinks unattended If you feel uncomfortable, leave immediately Stay sober - avoid alcohol on first meetings
Red Flags - Report These Immediately:
Asks to meet in private or isolated places Asks too many personal questions too fast Requests money or financial help Gets aggressive when you say no Looks nothing like their photos Pressures you to leave the public area
If you ever feel unsafe during a meeting, leave immediately and contact local authorities.

1. BE RESPECTFUL

Treat others how you want to be treated.
Communication:
Be friendly and polite Respect people's time If you're not interested, say so kindly - don't ghost Keep conversations appropriate for the platform
Responding to Messages:
Try to respond within a reasonable time If you change your mind about meeting, let them know Don't disappear after agreeing to meet
Canceling Plans:
Give at least a few hours notice Explain briefly why you're canceling Suggest rescheduling if you're still interested Repeated no-shows will result in account suspension
When Someone Says No:
Accept rejection gracefully Don't demand explanations Don't send angry or insulting messages Just move on to the next person

1. YOUR PROFILE

Be honest and authentic.
Photos:
DO use real, recent photos of yourself (within last 2 years) DO use clear photos where your face is visible DO look like you actually look
DON'T use someone else's photos DON'T use celebrity or model photos DON'T use group photos where we can't tell who you are DON'T use heavily filtered photos that don't look like you DON'T use childhood photos DON'T post sexual, suggestive, or underwear photos DON'T include photos with weapons DON'T include photos with children (even your own) DON'T use memes, cartoons, or graphics instead of real photos
Profile Information:
Use your real first name (or a nickname you actually go by) Be honest about your age Describe your actual interests
Don't include: Contact information (phone, email, social media handles) Advertising or promotional content Offensive language Political or religious preaching Links to other websites or apps

1. ABSOLUTELY PROHIBITED

These behaviors will get you banned immediately.
Harassment and Abuse:
No harassment of any kind No sexual harassment or unwanted sexual comments No threats or intimidation No stalking (in app or in real life) No bullying No hate speech based on race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, nationality, disability, or any other characteristic No aggressive responses to rejection
Scams and Fraud:
No asking for money from other users No financial schemes (investments, MLM, crypto pitches) No romance scams No fake profiles or impersonation No catfishing (pretending to be someone else) No creating multiple accounts
Inappropriate Sexual Behavior:
Sapian is NOT a dating or hookup app No sending sexual or explicit messages No requesting nude photos No sending unsolicited intimate photos No sexual propositions No using the app for prostitution or escort services
Commercial Activity:
No advertising or promoting your business No selling products or services No MLM or network marketing No recruiting people for your company No promoting events for profit No collecting contacts for databases No promoting your social media ("Follow me on Instagram")
You can mention your job in conversation, but don't use Sapian to sell things.
Other Prohibited Behavior:
No impersonating others No sharing others' private information No spam or automated messages No scraping or copying user data No using bots or automated systems No encouraging illegal activity No drug-related content No underage users (18+ only)

1. PRIVACY AND CONSENT

Respect everyone's privacy.
Personal Information:
Don't screenshot conversations without permission Don't share someone's photos without their consent Don't share personal details someone told you in confidence Don't post photos from meetings without permission
Don't Ask For:
Home addresses Workplace or school locations Financial information Passwords or account access Sensitive personal data
Be Smart About What You Share:
Don't give out your address before meeting Don't share financial details Remember that people can screenshot anything Only share what you're comfortable becoming public

1. ALCOHOL AND SUBSTANCES

Use good judgment.
Acceptable:
Meeting for coffee, tea, or soft drinks Having a drink with someone you already know and trust (not first meeting)
Not Acceptable:
Showing up intoxicated to meetings Pressuring others to drink Using or offering illegal drugs Discussing or offering to sell controlled substances

1. HEALTHY BOUNDARIES

Respect personal space and limits.
Physical Contact:
First meeting: handshake is fine, hugs only if both comfortable Don't touch anyone without consent Respect personal space "No" means "no" in every situation
Conversation Topics:
Avoid overly personal questions on first meetings Don't push religious or political debates if someone is uncomfortable Read social cues
Emotional Boundaries:
Don't use others as free therapists Don't dump all your problems on a first meeting Don't make others responsible for your emotional state Keep things light and friendly, especially at first

1. ACTIVITY-SPECIFIC GUIDELINES

Walks:
Choose safe, well-populated routes Don't go to isolated areas Agree on duration beforehand Dress appropriately for weather If someone suggests a shortcut through an empty area, decline
Sports:
Be honest about your fitness level Don't pressure others to exceed their abilities Respect different physical capabilities Be careful with contact sports
Coffee:
Agree on payment beforehand or split the bill Don't keep someone if they need to leave Respect their time

1. REPORTING AND SAFETY

If Someone Breaks the Rules:
Use the Report button on their profile or in chat Describe what happened Include screenshots if you have them Block the user
We Review Reports:
Within 24-48 hours for most issues Immediately for serious violations (threats, harassment) All reports are confidential We may ask for additional information
If You Feel Unsafe During a Meeting:
Leave immediately - you don't owe an explanation Go to a public area Call a friend or get a taxi If there's immediate danger, call emergency services (911/112/local police)
Then:
Report the user through the app Tell us what happened We will ban the violator Contact police if necessary
Serious Incidents:
If you experience: Physical violence Sexual assault or harassment Threats Financial fraud Stalking

1. Contact police immediately
2. Report to us - we will cooperate with authorities
3. Block the user
4. Save all evidence (messages, screenshots)
5. CONSEQUENCES

We take safety seriously.
Minor First Offense:
Warning Temporary restriction of features Content removal
Repeat or Moderate Violations:
Temporary suspension (7-30 days) Loss of access to certain features
Serious Violations - Immediate Permanent Ban:
Sexual harassment Threats of violence Hate speech Fraud or scams Stalking Fake profiles Being under 18 Illegal activity (drugs, prostitution)
When Banned:
Account deleted All data removed Cannot create new accounts May report to law enforcement if necessary
Appeal a Ban:
If you think your ban was a mistake, email alexey.bystritsky@gmail.com We'll review within 7 days Our decision is final

1. BE AWESOME

What We Love to See:
Show up on time Be open to new connections Listen actively Ask questions and show genuine interest Share your passions Respect differences Be yourself
After a Meeting:
Thank them for their time If you enjoyed it, say so If you want to meet again, suggest it If not, be honest but kind
Help the Community:
Report violations when you see them Be an example of good behavior Welcome new members Share positive experiences

1. WATCH OUT FOR SCAMS

Common Red Flags:
Someone Asks for Money:
Never send money to people you met online Even if they have a sad story This violates our rules - report them immediately Scammers are very convincing - don't fall for it
Too Pushy:
If someone is overly persistent Clearly tell them you're not interested Block them Report if they continue
Wants to Move Off-Platform Fast:
Be cautious if they immediately want to text/WhatsApp/call It's safer to chat in-app until you meet Exchanging numbers after meeting in person is fine
Suspicious Profiles:
Photos look too professional (model-quality) Very little information in bio Contradictions in their story Refuses to meet in public places Trust your gut - report if suspicious

Sapian is a platform to help people connect. We:
Do NOT conduct background checks Do NOT verify identities Do NOT screen users Do NOT monitor offline meetings Do NOT guarantee anyone's safety Are NOT responsible for what happens during or after meetings
You meet other users entirely at your own risk.
Follow these guidelines for your safety and the safety of others.
